Norwescon report
Opening credits: huge thanks to the lovely
deadrose_black & beau for their crash space, food, blankies, help lacing costumes, and hard-earned con wisdom. Big thanks to the Nibbal Unit again for holding down the fort; thirty-four hours at con is way more fun than eight, and not having to hurry or scrounge parking is a godsend. It would have been better to have her & the Wendling with me, though. Another year, perhaps.
In more or less chronological order:
Thirty-four hours, four costumes, zero regrets: Blue Confection; vinyl nun of Our Lady of Perpetual Cleanliness; Lucrezia Borgia; and the new, black, slinky Mysterious Gorey Woman.
Birthday parties are more fun when somebody has the presence of mind to bring a riding crop for spankings. I now know where the most sensitive part of
moonfiregirl is. Mmu hu hwaugh huh.
mamishka, your art does not suck. Sadly, as usual there was some there that did. I was sorely tempted by others, though.
Happiness is finding that thing you neeed for a costume at the last minute in a vedor booth when you thought you were going to have to do without. Serendipitous things like that happened all during the con. It was as if the Con Fairy had bapped me with her wand.
Fashion show: I liked
anzu's pieces, but I'm surprised she calls them fetish. A lot of the other pieces were, well, lame. Maybe Gothique has spoiled me.
I drank suprisingly little because I saw Rocky Horror for the first time in about nineteen years, which is long enough that I'd forgotten many of the best lines. The cast was really good, but it kind of detracts when they're nearly the same height as the screen.
Dayumn. I wish I'd been around for more of
ajka's DJ set.
Panels: quantum dots si, alien languages no.
Masquerade: watched the tail end of it on CCTV. Maybe I'll enter it again if I make another Moby Costume like Lizzie.
Room bah: the hardest part of sleeping on the floor was keeping warm.
Room yay: an impossibly tall, attractive, and haute geeky female roommate who wears leather pants with her corset and shoes in my size. People like that aren't supposed to exist in real life.
I saw far, far too many LJ people to list, and you all looked fabulous. Le sigh felice.
If you'll recall, getting a room at con was on my lifetime to-do list. OK, I didn't stay for the whole weekend, but I'm not feeling greedy at the moment. Cross it off.

I keep forgetting you're from around here. So now I'm all wondering if we've met in person and not known it. FREAKY

Awww, thank you sweetie! :) I even managed to sell some of it. Hooray! Not as much as I had hoped, but every bit helps. :)
It was great to see you - the nun outfit is FABULOUS! :) Very impressive. And yay you for staying over and everything. So very excellent. :) Must do that again next year!
