milkshakes and hot dogs

I didn't party this weekend because 1) I should be going out to dinner with MOOists tomorrow, thereby fulfulling my quota and 2) Her Nibs seemed so bummed about the job situation that I figured I'd better spend some time with her. I'm not sure it did her any good, but hey, I feel better for having tried. We bought books. We window shopped the usual places. At Dilletante I made lots of lewd comments at her over a mighty fine chocolate milkshake and some pah.

Some friends of mine from grad school whom I hadn't seen in ages (even though they live just across the lake) had a kid-friendly BBQ this afternoon. It was a pretty good time catching up and all, but what was noteworthy about it was the near-absence of other people who went to school with me. That was OK with me because many of them are richer than I am. Envy sucks.
