So I went to
fetyshgrl and
inverse_squared's wedding and had a lovely (mostly -- more about that below) time. It was one of the most beautiful and original weddings I've ever been to. Favorite touch: the feather girl spreading the eyes of peacock feathers. 18th-century costume heaven. OK, they didn't have PVC in the 18th century, but how could you not? Speaking of which, I spent several minutes getting edumacated by the sewing brain trust of
alexiarnps,
balzacq, and
prncsmoonbeam. Fun fact: long-nosed masks make it harder to recognize people than short-nosed masks.
Why am I feeling guilty? Because I helped a woman I'm positive was too drunk to drive get to her car. I asked her if she was OK to drive and offered to call her a cab, but no. She was trying to get me in the shotgun seat, so I got out of there quickly, but not before making a note of her license plate. She had previously agreed to help the newlyweds move some decorations in her SUV, but appears to have just taken off. (Thanks to
balzacq for helping me try to track her down again.) At the advice of
prncsmoonbeam I called 911 and reported it; go go eidetic memory. I hope she's in one piece somewhere; I also think she might be the biggest moron I've ever met.
