Good Sister forwarded an email today: our
mother is trying to retain a lawyer to try to change her will get out of guardianship. GS's lawyer doesn't think anything will come of it, and neither do I. And why?
- Lawyers tend not to be stupid enough to take cases they can't even get a settlement for.
- Mom's guardian has noticed the same thing GS & I have: some days Mom knows what's going on, and some days she doesn't.
GS reminisced about the days just a few months ago when we weren't sure how the lawsuit was going to go. Evil Sister, who only moved away from Mom last year, said she never had any doubts.
Prediction: By this time next year, if Mom's still alive, her mind will be like my dad's sister's is now. If you'll recall, she couldn't remember a day afterward that we'd spoken or how we're related.
