I watched one of the tv chefs (bald guy, short, amusing, can't remember his name) have it done on his show . . . holistic treatment for a cold. Left marks for some time, but of course: non-permanent ones. Heard about it for years--didn't know the bdsm community did it too (although I suppose I could have figured).
