I don't often post movie reviews, but I had to make an exception for Urotsukidouji. I followed my dream of a few days ago and rented it at Scarecrow on the recommendation of ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
mamishka, who said it's among the most hen of hentai. It was more than enough for me. Much splatter. Much, uh, non-consensual sex. Many tentacles per minute. All the usual anime cliches were there: young love, two gaint monsters slugging it out, supernatural creatures, and plot as a wafer-thin substrate for over-the-top visuals, but all in the service of something kinda nasty. I can only conclude that while Japan might not have more than its fair share of sick minds, it does have more than its fair share of sick minds that know how to draw. Her Nibs asked me why I watched the whole thing, and I could only answer, "Morbid fascination."
