plastic surgery by the numbers

Hours spent with a creepy-looking face-shaped ice pack on my face: 2, in 15-minute increments.

Fabulous women in my life helping me out with this: 2, namely the Tickler for seeing me at my very least sexy and driving me to my follow-up, and Funny Lady for planning a quiche delivery tomorrow.

Expressions of surprise from Dr. Faceknife: 2, one at my attempt to clean my wound this morning - I thought that was what the instructions were telling me to do - and one at the amount of blood in my drain. Starting tomorrow, I'm to keep track of what ends up in the squeezy bulb that's clipped to my t-shirt.

Number of pieces of tape securing original bandage: at least 8.
Number of pieces of tape securing new bandage: 1. This is a good thing because, says Dr. Faceknife, now is the time I start cleaning my wound thrice daily.

Eats had with the Tickler: 0, sadly. I needed more dope, and she needed to get some work done.

On a related note, number of rain checks handed out today: 2, one for the Tickler and one for Much Younger Woman. Le sigh.

Quarts of kefir consumed so far: 2.2 or so.

Number of days until my stitches and drain come out: 7. Until then I look like a hijabi cyborg.
