sistawendy: a cartoon of me in club clothes (dolly)
After an aggro week, I put on my leather opera gloves, Docs, black and white stripey hose, and barbed wire pattern corset and headed on down to the Church of Bass for Chillography.

Tunes: Yes, it was downtempo, but I found quite a bit of it surprisingly danceable. It was an all-female-DJ night. Geminitrix was, well, OK, but as she points out she doesn't usually do that kind of thing, either. (Her baby is drop dead cute. Nibs wouldn't have approved of baby's presence in a room with tasty Mackie sound, even though it wasn't that loud, comparatively.) Lara was much more to my taste. I will admit to getting swirly with the hippies as they rubber banded, and I didn't expect to. Dare I speculate that I've found something the Übergoths and I will both dance to?

Drinks: No booze, if you'll recall. I had something that tasted for all the world like a liquid PB&J. Luckily, I like PB&Js.

Vibe: Lots of occupied bean bag chairs on carpets on the floor. There was plenty of room to dance, but I was hesitant to use it at first. I needn't have worried. Friendly folks, some of whom came up to me and talked.

Nice boot count: Higher than expected.

Visuals: Much better than your average techno night in both quantity and quality. They actually put time into decorating.

Would I do it again? Sure, depending on what it was up against. I crave party energy, but this was a nice, mellow night.
