Maybe I'm easily amused, but...

...a cat whose tongue hangs out when he's feeling mellow makes me lay a square egg. He got self-conscious when I laughed at him, pulled his tongue in, and glared at me. (This would be [livejournal.com profile] alexiarnps's Purrcival.)

Yay: new clothes & accessories for cheap. Such nakhes.
Bah: February insomnia showing up more or less on time.

Shadow and Gonzo both used to make that tongue-hanging-out face if they were interrupted while washing. It's just the goofiest face. I love it.

In addition to the ones in their noses, cats have special scent receptors inside their mouths. When cats use the mouth receptors, sometimes their tongues stick out.

Of course, the cat in question could have simply been yawning and not entirely retracted the tongue upon closing its mouth. Or similarly, after cleaning itself.

Whatever the reason, it does make it look comical, doesn't it?

The way he switched his tail with increasing vehemence seemed to indicate that he KNOWS what people are laughing at, and he is NOT amused by it. Which, of course, made me laugh. Poor little guy.

Does ridicule count as animal abuse? I hope not.
