the Halloween night that wasn't; the Seacompression that was
I neglected to mention what didn't happen on Halloween night. Carpet SampLEZ failed to achieve critical mass - only three of us - so we went our separate ways. Dinner at Boom Noodle, which is spendier than your average noodle & pho joint, but in my opinion worth it. Used rekkidz at Everyday Music: I finally got around to picking up some 808 State after about twenty years. Then I get texted by a server saying, basically, "Help!"
So I take the bus back downtown, and an hour later I have things (temporarily, as it turned out) squared away. It was nearly 10:00 by then, and I didn't relish the prospect of catching the bus in our sketchy little 'hood at that hour. But then who should appear but a co-worker looking adorable in her dragon costume? A ride was bummed. Night salvaged.

ionan and his lovely wife, my favorite young lady in the Suspended Animation crew, and friends old and new. It was more about the social than the music & art for me, and I guess I needed it badly after my un-Halloween and boy time.
