Too much fabulous Ethiopian food at Meskel and much cuddling, etc. with the Tickler. And much listening to music: she extracted solemn promises from me to ask her out to bleepy dancing (Yay!), listen to more music with her, and to, like, nudge her electronically more often. She shares my depraved love of super-queer disco and techno in general. ♥!

We're (still) at that stage where we're trying to be nice to each other but not communicating very well: she asked me if I wanted to go back to my place, which is in the north end, or hers, which is in West Seattle southwest of downtown & the Central District, where we were eating. I said her place because it would minimize driving for her; I was of course assuming that I could sleep over as I had in the past and bus back in the morning. (I admit to enjoying the bus of fame.) But she offered me a ride home after 2300. Oh. I accepted, because it sure beat transferring from the C to the E downtown at midnight. On the way north, though, she said she would have been OK with a sleepover. At least one of us is meshuggah, probably both.

Oh, by the way: as I was walking from the bus stop to Meskel, who should I see but the Norwegian? She was talking to some pink-haired dude, but I had to say hi, of course. She likes Ethiopian but doesn't like Meskel, to my considerable shock.

Jealous here!

zOMG. I love Ethiopian but can't get my husband to go with me. :( I told him they do have vegetarian food, but had to admit that the vegetarian food that I've tried is somewhat bland...and just can't get him to try it. I NEED someone to go eat Ethiopian with me!

He won't even try it? Sheesh.

Well, to be fair, the description of how it's eaten (scooping up the food with spongy bread) isn't appealing to him either as he's not much for bread...and injera really doesn't sound good to him. LOL! I even have to admit that the amount of it one can accidentally consume while eating can be rather staggering. But as I LOVE the food that one scoops, I can deal with that occasionally.
