Hope springs eternal.

I abandoned my (technically adult, dammit) son last night to have Korean dinner with Funny Lady in Belltown*. Nothing remarkable about that, I suppose, but she proposed a) doing such things more frequently, and b) sushi inclusive-or dancing, which I would be hugely about. We acknowledged each other to be the best OKCupid experience we've ever had, by far.

You all might know that Funny Lady was raised to be a Southern belle, with all the indirectness that can imply. And you definitely know how prone I am to wishful thinking. So now you know I'm thinking impure thoughts about the (still) devastatingly cute & charming FL, even though she dumped me in an impressively classy way years ago because she had too much going on.

You may now verbally slap me. I probably need and deserve it. Or maybe even tell me I'm not being completely unreasonable.

*Korean Bamboo. Hole in the wall. OK for the money, but not a destination. Old Village, way the hell up Aurora, is still the winner locally.

I'm not sure infatuations ever really die until they're strangled by actually trying it out, so I'd be doing the same thing you are.
