Repairman to tell us the bearing had gone out in our less-than-four-year-old washer, rendering a replacement not much more expensive than a repair: under $100?

Said replacement, a Maytag front loader, including tax, delivery, and disposal of the old washer: $1081.

Ayunh. And you understand that as parents, we exist to do laundry. At least we get a $75 rebate from the city of Seattle (yes, even though I live in the burbs) for buying a water-saving front loader.
