Nun walks like a duck.

I've never thought of myself as a jock, but there I was yesterday at 1700 in physical therapy getting evaluated by a dude with a jock vibe, like that of the clinic, for a probable sports injury. He concurs with Dr. Gaydude that I have overly mobile patellas, so the muscles surrounding them need to be strengthened.

This means exercises that resemble yoga from hell and silly walks, the latter involving a big rubber band around both legs. There's not enough room in my one-bedroom apartment for proper silly walks, so that means either the basement or the little courtyard. My neighbors may find it amusing even if my son doesn't. My knee seems to be healing pretty well already, though, and if I can prevent a recurrence, this will so be worth it.

And right after physical therapy was grabbing a bite at a coffee joint on Broadway and getting to watch the staff (including a trans woman) call the police on an apparently out-of-it homeless girl who wouldn't leave the bathroom. And then immediately going to Lambert House and hearing about emotionally abusive parents; they're horrible to straight kids, but something about trans kids seems to inspire trash parents to find even more ways to be horrible. When I am Imperatrix Mundi...

Oh, I hate that Silly Walk with the bands. I also lack space, but managed to shuffle about in the kitchen. That damn exercise *hurts*. Not to mention producing hilarity in the husband.

I did a series of knee exercises for several weeks when I started hiking. My knees were immediately and obviously my weak spot, and the exercises helped.

The silly walks could help you fulfill your parental duty to embarrass your son. :-)

LOL "Oh! Hi, I was just...."

That's always a fun way to start a conversation. :-)
