not the Nibs of yesteryear
Friday night I was ready to check the fit for the bottom half of this year's Moby Costume. I was so euphoric about my progress that I wanted to show it off to Nibs. My boy had gone to bed, but it takes him at least an hour to go to sleep, so I asked her to come upstairs. Another reason for her to come up was that our friend and my co-worker H was downstairs relaxing on the couch with Nibs. H has seen me femmed up several times, but hey, it's not her thing, so I thought I'd spare her. Nevertheless, Nibs says to come downstairs. So I do, even though it's still daylight. Nibs & H say appreciative things about the work that went into it, and Nibs suggests (correctly) that I lower the skirt hem in front. Nibs looks nervously out the sliding glass door at the house of the neighbors we never see, but she didn't freak or rush me back up right away. Compare this to my situation four years or so ago when Nibs refused to see me femmed up under any circumstances. Progress like this is part of what's kept us a going concern.
Boy didn't want to go to picnic or Fremont with me today. His loss: good food and art cars. School's just ended, which may explain why he's been such a pill the last few days.
Techno alert: I'm listening to DJ Adnan right now, and I like his (free) mix of electro well enough that I'm going to go hear him on Saturday at Lo Fi.
I've been spammy lately. I hope I haven't driven you all away.
