All I wanted for Christmas was to party my booty off.

Now that I've had a good cry about my previous entry, it's time to post happy stuff again.

[livejournal.com profile] leenerella may have called it the Christmas Eve Eve party, but I call it the Party in the Big, Gorgeous House with My Favorite Peeps, Homemade Egg Nog, Other Weird and Tasty Alcohol, and Hot Women in Pretty Clothes, Some of Whom Are Known to Me to Be Bisexual. Ahem. Yes, I'm glad I went.

Re-bar was packed to the rafters last night. Kadeejah Streets + Ramiro Gutierrez = ♥. It was a surprisingly tech-y sound for a night run by an old (i.e., my age) hippie, namely Michael Manahan, but it was right on. Yes, hot women there too. Hormones, anyone?

Prep for my colonoscopy starts today. No fiber for you today, Miss Badguts.

. o O ( Mental note: Wish everybody a happy August 2nd when it arrives. )

have you had a colonoscopy before?

Nope. People tell me the prep is much worse than the actual procedure. I've been eating & drinking nothing but clear fluids all day. Luckily, cranberry ginger mimosas at Cafe Flora are clear.

Things to Know:

Relax as much as you can. There isn't really anything to be afraid of. It's weird, and it will be uncomfortable, but no where near the discomfort you have been in for a while. Seriously.

Afterwards you will wake up with OMG TERRIBLE AND AMAZING WIND. This will go on for about 40 minutes and then be more "a lot of wind" for the next few hours. They *inflate* your colon (but not horrendously much, like a balloon or anything), and that air all has to come out. It's not a big deal. Just don't be surprised by it.

When I had mine done, I was mostly awake for the majority of it, so I got to see the camera. They will turn it for you so you can watch too, often. It's sort of interesting to see yourself from the inside.

Did I mention to relax? Cause it's the key. the more relaxed you can be about and during, the easier and fast it goes.

They're going to sedate me, so it might be a little more pleasant less unpleasant that it would ordinarily.

they sedated me too.

It just didn't put me out for a long while. I think I saw a little over the first 1/3. I may have seen the whole thing, but I only remember the first 1/3, and then waking up later.
