Easy come, easier go.

Amount received from some legal settlement, claimed via Washington state Dept. of Revenue's unclaimed property division: $15.

Amount of the school zone speeding ticket that my son's driving put Ex & me technically on the hook for: $234. You read that right: two hundred thirty-four dollars. And you may bet all of that amount that the Wendling will be the one to pay the fine.

Of course, I've been paying his insurance. It's bound to climb when the insurer finds out. And he's been doing stuff for Ex's less-than-fully-ambulatory stepmother, who lives out on the east side.

Huh? How are you on the hook for any of that?

Ok, interesting. I guess the laws are different out there or something, because AFAIK in Florida, the ticket is solely attached to the driver, not the car.

Oooooooh! You didn't mention it was a robot. It _might_ be worth checking with a lawyer to see if you can get the ticket dismissed since the person who got the ticket (you) wasn't the person who was driving (him).

You're absolutely right, and I don't mean to sound like I'm second guessing your parenting or anything like that... If it were _me_, I wouldn't tell him anything about getting it dismissed, and make him pay me back either way. He still feels the consequences, but it's through the Court of Parent instead. But that also depends on how comfortable you are basically lying to your kid.

Them school zone tickets are $400 here. I've heard, I've never gotten one.
