a night with the Tickler

Last night's date with the Tickler didn't exactly start auspiciously: minutes before her projected arrival, the bathroom sink backed up. It's still backed up, despite an entire bottle of liquid Drano poured down it. I hear a lot of activity upstairs that I think may be related.

But back to the date. (Spoiler: it was great!) We went to Saba for dinner, where the Tickler told me that Saba is not the best Ethiopian restaurant in Seattle; she says there's a better one near Northgate. I'll just have to go there, preferably with her, Funny Lady, or both.

The main event was an Opulent Temple party down in Sodo with an Alice in Wonderland theme. This is the same crew that threw the Halloween party I raved about. I was Alice, of course, complete with starched pinafore, and the Tickler was the door mouse.

Tunes: right on, very San Francisco, which is where OT is based. Eye candy: off the hook. The Tickler and I had great fun being dirty old women together. I got to say hi to Textbook, taking care to behave myself. You know those awful women who look stunning without trying very hard? Textbook is one of those. It's monstrously unfair.

We finally made use of the new, more easily accessible bed! And now, wakies & brunch.

I hate plumbing. Did the backup improve over time?

I've never, ever had a pour-in clog-remover fix anything.

What you need are augurs. This sort of thing will fix any sink clog you should be playing with, and will take about three seconds. If it doesn't, then you should call the manager.

They don't really call these little disposable ones snakes. Probably because they don't twist. But they're really handy, you keep a few under the sink, problems like this are sorted much faster.
