...I didn't go to the Pride parade. I really felt like sleeping instead of crossing bridges, driving, parking, possibly busing, and fighting crowds with a boy who's really not keen on noise and doesn't appear to grok "gay" yet anyway. There shall be a next time.

Much has been made of the move to the Seattle Center next year. I can see both sides of it. Yeah, Broadway has the charm and the history, but more space and better access to transportation get a big thumbs up from this citizen.

How selfish is it, though? When it comes to attendance, more is more. Even if you think it's easy enough to get to where it is, they ran out of room to stand along the route years ago. I've heard that merchants are upset about the move, which surprises me a little. Access to their stores is completely blocked.

I think the ones that sell any kind of food and beverage get a *lot* of walk-in business from the parade.

OK, that makes sense, but this isn't the weeks-long Christmas shopping season. Moving the parade shouldn't kill them.
