I got my latest prototype, Zelda II, back from the shop yesterday. The handle was perfect and the artifacts were all but gone, but the insertion part was weirdly narrowed. It just doesn't look that bad on the screen. I even showed it to the Tickler over a video call last night and they said that isn't going to fly as a commercial product.
So, back to the electronic drawing board. I started with the solid model, converted to a mesh again, tried messing with it a little less than last time, and did a couple of linear resizes that I hope will solve the width issue. Off to the fab I have sent it, and I'll get the next one right before my official birthday.
The hell of it is, even with the narrow insertion part it works really well for me. I got myself off in under an hour under adverse conditions, i.e. short refractory time. TANJ.
Speaking of getting things, the Wendling gave me a knife block for Chanukah. I have plenty of room in my kitchen drawer for knives, but my poor son cut his hand once when he was reaching in there. I thought I'd fix the safety issue. Besides, it's surely better for the knives, not that I have anything too fancy.
