more adventures in (g)raving
Feb. 6th, 2005 08:54 amI haunted the usual haunts long enough to say yeaux to peeps, but my real mission last night was getting my graver on, which I hadn't done in a couple of months. The highlights:
A conversation in the jane:
Lightly Dressed Raver Girl: It's cold in here.
Me (in vinyl, velvet & corset): I hadn't noticed.
LDRG: That looks heavy.
Me: It's spread all over you so you don't notice.
- Lawnchair Generals failed miserably to disappoint. They spin a wicked house set. To quote one of the Baltic Room door guys, pretty good for local boys. For better and for worse, half of town seems to agree with me. It's a pity none of you guys were there to share it with.
- You get what you pay for: $12 cover.
- Whenever I go there, I'm invariably the oddest-looking person in the establishment by far. This makes me happier than it has any right to.
- There was a relatively high proportion of non-white people there. Iiinteresting.
- Thanks to platform boot technology, I had a clear view of the entire dance floor.
- Those cheap hose from Hot Topic survived a collision with Pine Street without tearing, which is more than I can say for the skin on my knee.
