sistawendy: a cartoon of me in club clothes (dolly)
Yes, the annual Merc costume affair. Awww, yeah. I didn't want to leave.

Most splendid: [livejournal.com profile] krypt_kitten's 18th-century-inspired white vinyl wedding dress, complete with wig. An outfit like that deserves to be seen more often.
Best match between costume and wearer: tie between [livejournal.com profile] seelenschwester's Celtic war goddess and [livejournal.com profile] cor_tenebrarum's Jesus complete with stigmata. I'd much rather worship the former becaue a) she's scary hawt, and b) she organized & decorated everything.
Cleverest: [livejournal.com profile] m_cobweb's Magic Mirror.
Best hair: [livejournal.com profile] icprncs.
Most skin: [livejournal.com profile] cynickal.
Most obscure: [livejournal.com profile] domichan. Proof, though, that obscurity can be dead sexy.
Physique award: [livejournal.com profile] djartemis. I almost failed to recognize her.
Parent power salute to: [livejournal.com profile] turtlegrrl13. Any mother who looks that good as vinyl red riding hood gets a shout out.
Slackest: me in the lovely, old school goth black & purple velvet gown bought from [livejournal.com profile] krpyt_kitten -- I can't believe she sold it -- with seams painted on me.

[livejournal.com profile] icprncs lamented that so many people go all out when ordered to, but not so much on more ordinary days & nights. I hear her, but I'd hate to detract from a night like that.

Not the sardine scene I expected, which made it more pleasant to walk through. Should I worry, though?

Back: sore
House: about to be overrun by in-laws
Me: rushed

Yesterday for the first time that I ever saw, my boy noticed that something he drew (Darth Vader, on a friend's birthday card) didn't look quite like the original. Maybe it felt like a bigger deal than it is, but.

Now don't get me wrong: I have nothing against family reunions, even if it's for the family I married into. Can we please, though, not host another one for several years at the very least?

About twelve hours separated the reunion from Wicked. Naturally, I imagine a collision of the parties. What would the soccer mom cousins have made of all the freaky lovelies? I bet 87-year-old Uncle Al would have dug them.
