nun worships idol
Sep. 9th, 2006 09:15 amSo I made it to Neumo's to catch Mark Farina. I was tired and I didn't negotiate a later curfew, so I figured I wasn't going to catch much of the headliner. Wrong. He started early and played a crowd-pleasing set. I shook my booty 'til it fell off along with all the other heads. You want to know the difference between Farina and lesser house artists? He understands the uses of the space between the notes. I seemed to be the only one laughing when he played something from the Groove soundtrack. Highlight: he signed my copy of San Francisco Sessions vol. 1. *Squeeee!*
As for Neumo's itself, the drinks are stink, as they say in NZ, but it's a good space with good sound. I had a negative hassle in the bathroom when somebody help me put my gloves back on. I left those very same gloves on the stairs for my son to find this morning. Ah well.
In other words, I had a good time.
