He lived in England for twenty years starting in the early '70s, and decided to take a trip around Britain (mostly) without driving so he could see the whole place one last time before moving back to the US with his family. This is the funniest thing I've read in years. How did I miss it when it was published in the mid-'90s? I'll never look at train enthusiasts the same way again, let me tell you.
