sistawendy: me in C18-inspired makeup looking amused (amused eighteenthcent)
I have to say I had a better time thrifting at the Capitol Hill Value Village than at the Goodwill on the Ave. The former has much more floor space, and perhaps therefore much less crowded racks and, I thought, better selection, at least for what I was looking for. That said, I did OK, and scored a used Mark Farina record at Cellophane Square on the way back. Ah, nostalgia.

Indeed, I spent half an hour walking up & down the Ave seeing what had changed since I last saw it. Fewer druggies, but less variety in the shops: it's increasingly restaurants, especially from 41st to 45th. It made me think a lot of what was (coffee with [livejournal.com profile] dianala, school chums) and what will be, but not so much what might have been.
You know that sick feeling I get when I check my work email? Today it was entirely justified. Happy Monday! That's also why I've gone a little quiet lately.
