I snuck out of work a little early to talk to a laser technician at the same practice where I get my electrolysis done. She confirmed what I'd heard about gray facial hair: lasers don't work on it. It's nice to know I haven't been wasting time and money. For the still-numerous brown hairs, though, a laser should be about as affordable and definitely more time-efficient, both in terms of hours on the table and calendar months. I'd like to start that next year, around the time I start hormones.
She did do a few strikes on my neck, and let me tell you, I found it quite a bit less comfortable than electrolysis. Also, one's own hair burning emits an alarming and unpleasant odor, no matter how badly you want the hair gone.
Nun plan for the next couple of weekends: nowhere public. However, I did snarf a ticket for one night at the Decibel Festival, namely Saturday 9/26 at Chop Suey. I say it every year, and I'll say it again: if you're at all into techno, it's quite the smorgasbord. Four day times what, six or eight venues equals a whole lot of techno.
