finding Burners in a haystack
Aug. 1st, 2011 10:06 pmTwo of the things that I learned at Burning Man in '07 were that
leenerella & hubby was a huge stroke of luck.)
So, Burners, where in BRC are you camping? I'll be in Gigsville at around 2:30 and D, along with
ack_yeahright, her hubby J, and two friends of theirs. It turns out that I'll be getting there & back with them, too, so I won't have to worry about my little Sanctimobile getting hurt by the playa. I have to admit I wasn't looking forward to camping on the way back, either.
How's the prep going, you may ask? I'm steadily whittling away at the 160-odd item packing list, so I should have it all in time.
gfish was kind enough to bend my pointy re-bar pieces into tent stakes; he also lent me his tent.
My motto this year: minimize responsibility, maximize irresponsibility. When I told my campmates that, J was incredulous. I accept his challenge.
- some of the best times you can have out there are hanging out with friends, and
- finding them is well nigh impossible if you don't know where to look, and sometimes even then.
