Postscript: M'boy is on happy pills.
Nov. 7th, 2011 08:30 amMy son has been having trouble sleeping dues to anxiety for months, and in recent weeks it's become a serious impediment to his life. His lack of sleep may even be contributing to his horrid behavior of late. So, I picked up a scrip for Prozac for him last night.
You probably won't be surprised to hear that as much as I hate knowing my son is suffering, I'm really squeamish about happy pills and their potential side effects. I'm not the only one: his primary care doc has asked us to find someone else to manage his dose. Did you know that pediatric autism specialists are in such demand that they don't need to take insurance? This is me, grumbling about our health care "system".
