I have the new Lambert House database and oh by the way web site working (as far as I know) at feature parity with the old one, plus authn/authz. I've worked an obscene number of hours on it, staying up late, sneaking time here & there, for about a month now.
Now I get to find out if the director actually wants it. Seriously, I asked him about it before, and he didn't discourage me. Besides, even if he doesn't want it, I learned a lot that's useful to me, unlike Microsoft Access.
There are many, many things we can do with this DB. We can store photos so creeps can't get past the volunteers at the front desk. We can generate all the fancy dance reporting that the city wants without burning precious money for paid staff because we now have a real query language (SQL). Oh, yesss. Mmu hu hwaugh huh hah ha!
