All Saints' Day is also the birthday of my father's sister. I called her, natch, with the traditional family greeting of a few bars of "Happy Birthday to me". Fun facts I didn't know until yesterday:
- She turned 82 (!) this year and is still puttering around her yard. Her mother my grandmother lived into her nineties, and I'll bet my aunt does as well.
- There's something wrong with one of her ankles that made it hard for her to run or do sports. That didn't matter to the school she went to in the southwest, so she ended up doing poorly in gym class and being made fun of in Spanish.
- How did she respond? By calling her tormentors Mexican pigs - in Navajo.
