I got texted awake by machines at 0545 yesterday. I could do nothing to help them except try to rouse somebody who could. This has been fixed, partly.
After a surprisingly productive day at work, I had a longish first date with a quiet, reassuringly queer-looking woman from OKCupid. How quiet? I must have done 90% of the talking, which after two hours fried my voice. Am I still interested? Well, I'm not uninterested. She seems nice enough, but awfully introverted and maybe a little too guarded. We'll see.
Went to Lambert House at 2120 to help the director, Ken Shulman, get the statistics that the city requires to fund us. The person who used to do that quit, and left no documentation of how he generated those numbers. When I wrote what looked to me like the obvious Access query (which due to baroque city requirements and my fatigue-addled brain took longer than I wanted) the numbers were distressingly low, lower whan what had come before. We have targets that we have to meet by the end of the year. Well, Ken and I did our head-scratching best, and I got out of there sometime around 0025 today.
