Nun abandons her child, fails to be overcome with guilt.

I spent the night in Kirkland last night. It'll be the last time I see my son before his mother returns tomorrow. So how did he do without his mother for a week? So-so. He claims to have gotten to school on time every day - not that hard given that on some days he has no morning classes - but there were some chores he didn't do without a reminder, and I'm not sure he ate right. He did take care of Bigpuppy, which is definitely a high priority.

Is he ready to live alone? No. But did he burn the house down or lock himself out without any clothes on or something? No.

I left the house shortly before he was due to leave for Dr. Kidshrink. Imminent Ex usually goes with him, but I have this excuse for not doing so: he's eighteen-and-a-half and he doesn't live with me most of the time. The time for me (and IX) to turn over responsibility to him for, well, his whole life is right around now.

Tonight: fancy office holiday pah-tay with Much Younger Woman, which can't fail to be excellent fodder for this here LJ. Legs shaved, nails done.
