suspicions refuted
Jan. 8th, 2016 01:11 pmThe context: a couple of Prides ago I ran into my former cow-orker M from two jobs ago at the street fair on Broadway. He isn't queer; he just lives on Capitol Hill. He's kept in touch, and last month he asked me out for drinks with him & his wife, whose name I forget. I wondered, 'Is he going to recruit me? Or are they tranny-chasing unicorn hunters?'
The answer to both questions was no. We met at Canon, we talked, I told tales of queerness, Goths, & Burning Man, and we had some nice boozes on M. They took me the several miles home to Phinney, even though they live within walking distance of Canon, thereby saving me a long bus ride. It was all mighty nice of them. Living in the big city so long has made me unduly suspicious, apparently.
