Oct. 17th, 2019 11:20 amI took the Sydney outfit to the dry cleaners the other day because I'd noticed a few spots on the skirt at the wedding. Fast forward to today, when it was supposed to be ready.
The lady behind the counter told me that she'd been trying to call me, but I kept hanging up. Indeed, I've adopted the solution that lots of people have to robocalls: smash the mofos. What she was trying to tell me was that one of the ties for bustling the skirt had come off, and she gave me instructions in not quite impeccable English on how to mend it. Will do, of course, along with sewing a button onto the velveteen coat for that outfit - once it arrives from Sydney.
I have put my dry cleaners' phone number into my contacts now. I do give them hella business.
This has been a week of a large number of small things going wrong. I'd like to point out that Mercury is not retrograde - prograde? - and won't be until Halloween.
