living on the intertubes
May. 21st, 2020 01:18 pmTried to get my son to eat shrimp. Mostly failed. Le sigh. I hope the lack of variety in his diet doesn't bite him on the ass later in life.
Got on a video happy hour organized by
xaotica, who's basically the queen of Seattle's Gen X ravers. She threw some of the best house parties I've ever been to. I unexpectedly met up with all sorts of attractive women with whom I have things in common. Ahem.
I video called Taller Woman last night. She's been driving around doing food rescue, helping pick up tons - yes, literally, dozens of tons - of potatoes, onions, and other produce at farms that are having trouble selling them and then delivering them to food banks all over western Washington state. Local governments and the private sector are chipping in with trucks & drivers.
I asked TW if the food banks have enough storage capacity for all of the food. She said that in Seattle the food all gets used more or less immediately, and even in the smaller cities storage isn't a problem.
TW describes the farm workers as wary of her because they're probably undocumented and she's a stranger to them. But in general, her interactions with the farmers, who live mostly if not entirely in the Republican part of the state east of the mountains, have been positive.
I mentioned losing some weight since the Sitch started. I'm taking advantage of that to comfortably squeeze into my black leather pencil skirt with a black & white polka dotted blouse, complete with floppy tie, and thigh-high boots. I have a call with the Tickler tonight. That's right: business from the waist up, party from the wast down.
