the beginning of an end

I've just received word from Evil Sister that the police picked up my mother. She was wandering around looking for my father, they said. She thought they'd had an argument. It fell to ES to tell Mom that Dad has been dead for going on twenty-six years.

Good Sister, meanwhile has been "scrambling" to find round-the-clock care for Mom. I'm assuming that means Mom has to leave the house, which means she loses the house to that fucking reverse mortgage. It only now occurred to me to offer help to my sisters, but it's after 2130 Eastern time, so there isn't much I can do for them right now anyway. They probably need their rest.

I should get to see my mother in a few weeks thanks to the vaccines, but will she know who I am? Having transitioned makes that less likely.
