an evening with La Fashionista & friends
Jan. 8th, 2022 12:23 pmI promised La Fashionista earlier this week that I'd come along to help her retrieve what turned out to be a small amount of stuff from the creep she'd recently dumped, N. N did creep some more while we were there, but La F handled it so quickly that I barely noticed it.
And while we were there, La Fashionista knocked on the door of N's neighbor C to tell her that we were about to get some dinner and would she like to come along? She did! And we'd already planned on meeting up with J from Thanksgiving. So we went out to the Teachers' Lounge, La F's and my old haunt, for light drinks and eats. J sure complains a lot; as for her comments about the food, they led me to speculate about eating disorders. But she's super cute, so she gets away with it.
Back to La F's, where I saw Starship Troopers for the first time. It really is as good as everyone always told me, from the writing & acting right down to the costuming and the art direction. I could hear the whoosh as its subtly dark humor sailed over Republican heads. Tragic.
