update: Mom
Feb. 27th, 2022 04:20 pmMy mother got surgery yesterday, not today, to install a rod in her femur and two screws to secure it. The doctors say it can bear weight now, but not comfortably.
I have spoken with Mom, Good Sister, and Niece E. Mom sounded surprisingly good, not stoned. She didn't have her hearing aids in, though, which left her largely unable to understand me.
I also got the lowdown on how it happened from E. When my mom got her non-master bathroom expensively remodeled, she replaced the ordinary doorsill with a piece of marble that, well, sticks up higher than it needs to. She tripped on that. E & I always did hate that thing.
At this point we don't know what Mom's rehab is going to look like, but it'll happen.
I asked GS if there's an immediate need for me to get down there. She said no, it's best if there's only one member of the United Sister Front there at a time, and Evil Sister is already making plans to arrive after GS leaves.
