HVAC vs. regular vac?
Jun. 10th, 2022 01:20 pmThe coven is coming over this evening, so I thought I'd vacuum over lunch. (Yeah, I'm like that.) When I started to do my bedroom, though, the vacuum only ran for a fraction of a second.
Belatedly, I tried turning the bedroom lights on. Nope. Circuit breaker tripped? Yup.
It turns out the vacuum cleaner (12A) plus the bathroom lights and heat (??A but surely not that much) plus the wireless router (??A but again surely not that much) plus the mini-split HVAC unit (1A) was enough to trip the bedroom circuit breaker (15A, which I thought was pretty reasonable when I first saw it a few weeks ago). I had indeed forgotten to turn off the bedroom's mini-split and turn on the living room's when I went up to work this morning.
Today I learned.
Oh, and on a related note, my employer is downsizing offices again. They wanted to get rid of monitors, so I checked out a big ol' Apple screen, shelled out for a USB-C to Thunderbolt 2 adapter, and now for the first time in years I have two monitors. I'm a Real Developer®. Less typing, more head movement.
