I just watched "The Times of Harvey Milk" with my son. Yay that
On the down side, the Wendling has been a bit disruptive in school with his lack of social skills. His teacher says she's going to start calling him on it in class, an idea that he loathes. I'm not happy that he's not happy, but he needs to learn how to handle himself in large peer groups. That's something Nibs & I can't teach him. He knows he has a problem when he thinks about it; he just hasn't accepted that he can and must do something about it.
I've made a pact with someone on my friends list - don't make me name names - to get on a regular walking schedule. I've reached my goal of three walks of thirty minutes this week, made easier by today's long-delayed glorious sun. It made my walk this morning through the manicured front lawns & blooming rhodies of Redmond extra fabulous. Fun fact: the worst-maintained house in the entire large subdivision around the corner from my place is the dilapidated, cat-and-moldy-vehicle-strewn house directly across from my bedroom window.
Project Girlfriend, well, plods along. Everybody's busy. I have reason to believe that the wonderful photo from SEAF may yet prove useful, though.
And speaking of busy, in the next three weeks I have both conference week at my son's school and Pride.
- My son is into documentaries.
- My son is willing to sit through a documentary about a gay politician.
- My son didn't hate a documentary - a rather good one, by the way - about a gay politician.
