Last night's Hot Flash outing with D went well, well enough that she invited me to dinner to meet her primary J in a couple of weeks. I'm... not quite sure what to think about that. I'm not nervous about it because I haven't gotten over the novelty of it yet. I'd be very surprised if I have anything to be nervous about, though. We're all one big freaky family in Seattle; I think I recognize him from his photo.
I got stalked for much of the evening by a butch in a stocking cap who kept trying to talk to me while I was sitting with D. A dubious first! D (ahem) helped me make it clear that she & I were on a date and didn't want to be disturbed. She's a sweetheart. With purple hair, excellent manners, and a pickup truck.
D had promised J that she wouldn't stay out past 10, so I wandered the Hill. I'd dressed down - short-sleeved just-above-the-knee floral print dress and cowboy boots, no hose or lipstick - because I didn't want to be That Tranny Who Tries Too Hard in a room full of lesbians. As I was walking toward the Wildrose, some young thing with her two friends flagged me down, told me it was her birthday, and asked if she could have a photo with me. I humored her and said yes. "Don't look sexier than I do," she said.
Uh huh. "No worries," I said. She wasn't at all bad looking.
One of her friends snapped the picture, and that was that.
Do I really still look that unusual when I'm trying not to? Le sigh.
I think my favorite late night munchie is a Field Roast veggie dogs on a brioche bun at Po' Dog. A fine place to eat, think, read Twitter & Facebook, and sober up.
