Nun gets gums rearranged.

I've just had a gum graft completed this morning. Between braces as a teenager, grinding my unprotected teeth as a young adult, and the ravages of time, my dentist & the periodontist to whom he referred me agreed that I was in danger of damaging the roots of my teeth. So, I now have zombie mouth gum tissue taken from the roof of my mouth and grafted over my front six (?) lower teeth.

It's not as bad as it sounds. Dr. Perio sewed me up under (lots of) local anesthesia, no gas. Ibuprofen seems to take care of the pain nicely, as long as I don't move my lower lip. That was a little tough to do while eating the Cup Noodles® that came in the bag of post-op goodies from Dr. Perio. That's right: soft foods only for the next several days. My kitchen is full off soup, kefir, and protein shakes. Good thing I like them.

M'boy will be pleased to hear that I've been discouraged from exercising, so I won't be dragging him up Phinney Ridge to Red Mill. I'll have to drive us. I was relieved to hear that I can eat a burger, though, as long as I cut it up.

Speaking of exercise, until today I'd been pretty good about my yoga, and I think it was showing. Ah well, this time next week.
