I've been coughing and wheezing pitifully off and on for about a month, since I got back from Cascadia. If this is a cold, what it lacks in intensity it makes up for in tenacity. I have a doctor's appointment early next week to get my hormone levels checked and, importantly, my prescription renewed. How convenient.
Some of the sixty-year-old concrete in my apartment building has been patched and replaced this week. That meant that my son got awakened at a perfectly reasonable hour by the dulcet tones of a jackhammer about forty feet away from us. Ex and I have been trying to get him to be, like, diurnal for years, so I'll admit to a schadenfreude moment. Mind you, I know a lot of night owls; I even used to be one. I see nothing wrong with it, but when you have as much difficulty taking care of business as he does, there need to be some limits. Who do I really feel sorry for? My neighbor P, whose apartment was even closer to the noise and who works late.
