I started running low on estradiol, or as I like to call it, girl 'roids, last month. My prescription had expired, so I made an appointment with Dr. Gaydude to check my levels. He reduced my dose, but he renewed the 'scrip, so I'm ready to order some from the usual online pharmacy that my (private) health insurance requires me to use.
Or so I thought. The online pharmacy, an arm of Cigna insurance, had jobbed my prescription and, I presume, others like it to an outfit called Freedom Fertility. Leaving aside the hilarity of having a company with "fertility" in the name provide hormones for a trans woman, I had to talk to them and make sure they were convinced that yes, this 'scrip had actually been written for me. And then there was talk of delivery. I was told to expect it yesterday; there was some date wrangling because of my trip to San Francisco.
Well, yesterday came and went, with my son at home for much of the day. No drugs. So I call Cigna today. Cigna's system gives me a FedEx tracking number for a package that was delivered, I know not where, on September 20th. So I call Cigna again, they bounce me to Freedom, and Freedom tells me they just today got confirmation from Dr. Gaydude's office that I'm legit, and that I should expect the drugs on Friday.

- We'll see if that actually happens. I have most if not all of one of the new lower doses, so I'm not completely screwed if it doesn't arrive in time.
- Gosh, if that FedEx package was for real, I hope its recipient got it. It was delivered without signature confirmation.
- I have a vague memory of getting an email maybe a week ago asking if I wanted signature confirmation. I said no because in general, my place is pretty safe, and in any case, my son was going to be there on the first. I won't be doing that again, at least not for drugs.
- I can't find that email.

Date: 2019-10-04 09:25 pm (UTC)From:Brilliant timing: my drugs just arrived, along with an admittedly very nice supply of all the syringes & needles I would ever need with that one vial. They sent 18G needles for getting the estradiol out of the vial, and 22G needles for getting it into me, which is exactly the most convenient and comfy way to go.
