Yesterday was social day.

Social thing #1: talking with cupcake_goth at a distance of only 30' or so. I was wearing a dress to which she'd added tassels at the hem, but I made the mistake of wearing them with my comfy, stompy 'Vog boots* that have quick lace hooks. I caught the tassels on the hooks so many times that I ended up walking most of the 58 blocks while holding the hem of my skirt. The Vampire Witch Queen was amused.

Social thing #2: La Fashionista has been working the dating sites and has a new girlfriend, E, but E has another partner who's in a high-risk group for COVID-19. Since La F is planning to see E in person in a week, she can't do ladies' night in with C & me in person.

Discord video to the rescue! It wasn't bad — only La F had issues with frame rate and sync — but I still would have preferred in person.

Kind of social thing: for the third time in a row, I've talked to Mom for at least ten minutes without any confabulations. The nurses that visit her must be making sure she takes her meds. Oh, and the United Sister Front, with our doughty Niece Auxiliary, is going to make sure she votes.

I was once wearing boots with speed laces when I made the mistake of wearing a lace overskirt. They caught as I stood up and started taking a step at the same time, and yep I went face first onto the floor. Did not repeat that fashion mistake again....

my own bane is lace + poky jewelry. I can not count how many times I have caught my earrings and necklace on my clothing and been stuck in a gimpy pose while I untangled filigree from frilly lace.
