My Aunt H passed away yesterday, sooner than we were told to expect. Evil Sister told Mom, who took it fairly well according to ES. Good Sister had sent flowers in Mom's name, which Aunt H got, but the florist badly mangled Mom's name. I hope Aunt H figured it out.
I've mentioned here before how Mom talked about Aunt H in the past tense well before she died because Aunt H had schizophrenia that started to manifest in her late teens. When her mental illness bloomed, the smart and tough sister that my mother so admired was gone.
Cousin M is no longer faced with a dilemma. His mother Aunt D, who gracefully cared for Aunt H for decades, earned a break many times over. And Aunt H herself is finally free of demons that I know were horrible for her. Now she can be a demon that haunts my mother.
