I ordered boxes from U-Haul. As Tacoma Girl said, it feels wrong to do that, but there was no way in hell I was going to go fetch my car from my son, drive all over the city, and scrounge as many as I need.
The boxes came in seven – wait for it – boxes. They represent a significant reduction in available interior volume in the Devil Girl Pad, and make some parts of it hard to get to. When I get the boxes out of the boxes and start filling them up, that situation will become even worse. My son is going to like staying here even less than he already does.
And in other house news, the US Postal Service doesn't know yet that my place and the other four units that have the same numeric part of their house number exist. Someone really should tell them. I'd kind of like to, you know, get snail mail there someday. Officialdom likes to communicate that way.

This has been the case in California and Arizona. However, I’ve never done it with an existing building.
