My son dialed his grandmother on the phone and talked to her last night. See, getting him to use the phone is a Big Deal because apparently he can't stand the dial tone or maybe something else about phones. It took us ages just to get him to talk on one. It was all I could do not to cheer right there; he still doesn't react well to praise sometimes. Now one of us can have a heart attack or fall down the stairs and we don't have to worry that our son is too afraid of the phone to call 911.
