I mentioned a while ago that (ahem) Rogaine works on me. The trouble is, I'm part of that lucky 5% of the population that's allergic to the solvent in Rogaine, namely propylene glycol. Untreated, after a few days the itching will drive me maaaad. Happily, there is a (prescription-only) treatment for the itching called Olux. The trick then is to put the Olux on all the places where the liquid Rogaine has run.
Despite all this, it still beats wigs.

I never seem to have a morninglike time of day to put the horrid stuff *on* when I won't have to be out in public shortly, and it makes me all greasy. (And itchy.) I don't see myself quite getting to wigs, but it'd be nice to see less scalp over time. Ah, the things we take for granted when we're young.

As for timing, hrm. I use mine about a hour before I get to work, and it hasn't been a problem. Yeah, it does unattractive things to the texture of your hair, but that seems to be temporary.
