new Nibbal drugs
Apr. 3rd, 2003 01:11 pmHer Nibs is now on methotrexate in addition to plaquanil -- they seem to work better together, says the doc -- along with nexium (instead of prilosec) for her industrial-strength reflux and folate because methotrexate interferes with the absorption thereof. We'll know if this is working in four to eight weeks. That's an astounding (to me) number of pills, even if she can finally get off the evil prednisone.
Bits of good news: 1) the plaquanil wasn't entirely a bust because it kept the fibromyalgia at bay, and 2) all cases of rheumatiod arthritis are manageable nowadays, unlike its big brother lupus. (Sorry,
